Ethics

The Director of the Office of Internal Auditing has been appointed by the President of Illinois State University to serve as the University Ethics Officer. The Office serves to provide leadership on ethics related matters and ethical behavior at Illinois State University. Among other activities, the University Ethics Officer collaborates with the Office of the Executive Inspector General (OEIG) to investigate any alleged violations of the State Officials and Employee Ethics Act by Illinois State University employees.

Members of the University community assume responsibility for conducting University operations consistent with ethical practices embedded in University policy, federal and state laws, and other standards and regulations that govern University activities.

The state of Illinois has promulgated certain rules for state employees, including University employees, which require or prohibit certain activities.

Any student, faculty, or staff member who believes they have witnessed an ethics violation should report the violation immediately.
